Detailed Guide to Registering for the BCS Test Successfully

The highly coveted BCS examination is one of the top-ranking exams in Bangladesh, opening doors to civil service jobs under the government. Annually, a multitude of aspirants vie for limited spots. To initiate your journey, you must complete the application process. Here’s a easy-to-follow guide to help you apply seamlessly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To begin your BCS application, visit the official website of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC): www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the exclusive portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Be careful from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Find the latest BCS exam circular under the announcements section. The circular shares necessary information, such as qualifications needed, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other critical instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Thoroughly review the eligibility criteria, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The commonly required age limit is within the range of 21–30 years for general candidates, but modifications may be considered for specific groups such as freedom fighter family members or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the BCS application page (Form 1). Input all compulsory fields, such as applicant information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Verify for any typos. Providing wrong information can lead to application invalidation.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a current copyright-sized photograph (300px x 300px, file size below 100 KB) and your signature (300x80 pixels, file size below 60 KB). Check that these comply with the requirements mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After uploading your application, you will be given a User ID. Use this ID to settle the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT seven hundred for general candidates and BDT 100 for others. Follow the instructions provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will be sent a confirmation SMS with a receipt number. Keep this ID for future reference. Access again the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Submit your application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute glitches.

Print a copy of the final application form for future use, such as for retrieving the admit card.

By complying with these processes, you can successfully apply for the BCS exam and move closer your goal in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Best wishes!
